Friends and Comfort food.... because

World traveller KW takes time out to cuddle the cat....she enjoyed England, but found the scenery outside the bus like a passing movie set after a while, too perfect and too much! Big Red liked Ireland the most, but was amazed to be offered 'Aspergoose' soup at one resturant. It turns out there are many Polish people working in Ireland and language is a learning curve for all! She spent her time collecting cookbooks and I have tasted some of the proceeds, YUM!


I've been trying new things too - Sticky Buns! (first time for making these...not too bad)

Winter? in the Desert

The Mulberrry tree is finally losing its leaves, it must be winter, even though it was another sunny day here in the desert. We have had a little rain, but not much, not like Sydney, and the weather flows the wrong way for them to send some over!
It was the last opening Sunday for the Library today (middle Sunday of the Exam period) and we are all looking forward to shorter opening hours starting the week after next.
I happened to miss out on any exams this semester (yippee!), but we have had a lot of stressed out students in doing last minute readings etc.
I discovered something new this week,Cramster this is, to quote the web site, "A study community for homework help in physics, math, science and engineering". It is an American based site, and one of our students was using it to study the answers to problems in his mathematics text.
It is an interesting use of the web to provide "Homework Help"...!
